Amy Ruther
Human Resources, Accounting,
Payroll, Office Coordinator
Amy Ruther joined the Steadman Hawkins Research Foundation staff in July of 1998 and has worn many hats since. During the past
seven and a half years, Amy has worked in Administration, Clinical Research, and Education and Fellowship. Currently, her main
focus is with Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, and managing the front office.
Amy, a Wisconsin native, graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 1990. She earned a B.S. degree in early
childhood education, with a minor in sociology. In 1992, she and her husband, George, moved to Denver, Colo., and in 1994,
they made Vail their home.
Amy's career began with teaching for a Head Start program and gradually moved to the business side of things after her move to
Colorado. She spent five years working for the Vail Valley Medical Center before coming to the Steadman Hawkins Research
Foundation. "I'm happy the Foundation recruited me so many years ago. It is a wonderful organization with a great cause."
Amy and George never did trade in their "cheeseheads" when they moved to Colorado. They continue to be avid Packers fans while still
finding time to enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, and traveling. They thoroughly enjoy calling the mountains of Colorado their "home away
from home."
